Faculty of Construction, Engineering & Building Services

Taking Teacher Further programme is a national initiative designed to attract experienced industry professionals with expert technical knowledge and skills to work in Further Education. This enables UCG to offer added benefits to support experienced industry professionals from key sectors into the teaching profession. The benefits of this enhanced support package include: Level 5 Diploma in Education training course (Part time over 2 years), work shadowing/ mentoring support and a reduced teaching timetable from September 2020: 140 hours to be completed by the end of March 2021

Plumbing and Gas Assessor/Lecturer

£30,678 to £38,056 per annum including London Weighting Allowance per annum

The Faculty of Technology, Engineering and Construction has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Lecturer in Construction and Built Environment. The role will involve tutoring and course management of a Level 1, 2, or 3 vocational programme as well as teaching across all programmes.

The successful candidates should have a degree (or equivalent) in a related area. You should also be familiar with the current BTEC and City & Guilds curriculum and we encourage applications from teachers with a broad range of disciplines both in practice and theory

You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.

You will also possess a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment. Excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team and contribute positively and creatively are also essential in this role.
